Big love to all the beautiful people who came out to celebrate INDIGENOUS’ two-year birthday at last month’s Rumble. Loaded with Trumer Pils and tequila, that was one hell of a time. Sorry to all who had to wait in line, but hopefully HARLEM, SUNDAY TIMES, and WHAT LAURA SAYS were worth it. And now…on to August!
Future Sounds, BMI and Indigenous present The Rumble San Diego August w/ RUMSPRINGA, LESANDS and DINOSAUR FEATHERS.
LA’s RUMSPRINGA are fresh off a string of California dates. Garnering favorable press from RCRD LBL to Flavorpill and even MTV NEWS who
declared them as “one of the best LA bands I have seen in a really long time. This LA based act are hazy and dirty (minus the shoegaze) with classic electric riffs, creating genuine blues soaked music that demand audience participation; swaying and all–and as LA RECORD puts
it, “something about this band’s music is hypnotizing. 01-Shake-em-Loose-Tonight-rumspringa1.m4a

LESANDS
Next are San Diego’s LESANDS, who are the talk of the FUTURE SOUNDS/INDIGENOUS/BMI offices. Their sound is somewhere between new-wave and the glo-fi band’s we’ve come to love like Small Black and Washed Out. Check out “Pretenders” and “Glowing,” a song lead singer, Austin Tirado, describes as “making out on the beach” – yum! Our prediction is this band will be the next to break out of SD. 01-Pretenders_LESANDS1.mp3
Opening the night are Brooklyn’s DINOSAUR FEATHERS who are described by The New York Times as “One of the year’s quirkiest and most
charming debut albums in Fantasy Memorial, a garage-sale jumble of styles anchored by sinisterly effective pop melodies.” We’ve heard
nothing but great things about this band and are looking forward to catching them live.
