Due to conflicting schedules, we are SADLY unable to attend this year. There is nothing better than four days of amazing live music in a sweet, open, campy setting that instills a buzz of collective consciousness for a week (if longer, go to the hospital). So here is our take on the best music festival the U.S. has to offer…

Top reasons why we love it so damn much:

1/ Where else can you see hippies and hipsters playing, partying and living in harmony? Fanny packs/Ray Bans + Corduroy/Dreadlocks = Manchester, TN in June

2/ Silent Disco–the only spot where can you rock out to your fullest in an open-air tent with the only audible sound blaring out of the BOSE headphones you are wearing at 9:30am. Pretty creative, experiential marketing there…well done, BOSE! Sometimes more fun in it, sometimes more fun standing outside of it. Which brings me to number three…

Click here to view the embedded video.

3/ People watching. Enough said.

4/ $10 RV showers–might as well be the Ritz Carlton by day 2…or even better co-ed showers in the restricted access area. :)

5/ The overwhelming sense of accomplishment you feel once you’ve established your bearings with the WHICH, WHAT, THIS, THAT stages and can find your campsite in under 30 minutes.

And lastly, 6/ falling in festival love… and thinking it’ll last forever. (See #4 above)

A few things we wish people would keep stashed inside their RVs, or just leave at home all together…

1/ Fairy Wings on adults…. ?

2/ Phenomenon affectionately known as “Lot Toe”…the layer of dirt, grime–and you don’t want to know what else–on the underside of feet and <insert gag> toe nails you inevitably get when wearing flip flops, sandals or bare feet at an outdoor show.

3/ When you run out of money and have to wash your hair in the water trough using a Solo cup…special tip: look for veterans using big Nalgene bottles.

4/ The annoying (drunk/drugged/other) person who thinks you are the only one who understands them.

5/ The Nashville airport refugee camp on Bonnaroo Sunday.

Seriously though, if you are at the festival, you jerk, be sure to check out the Indigenous picks:

PASSION PIT – put your dancing shoes on (or better yet, kick them off…it is Bonnaroo after all).

DIRTY SWEET – San Diego’s own.

MGMT’s 2AM set !!! – how can you not miss the psychedelic mayhem, the set time is hilarious.

DELTA SPIRIT – get ready to rock to the best live band out there!

KI: THEORY – one of our favorites from last year’s CMJ in NYC.

Peace and love to you dirty hippies!
