We are pleased to announce our first showcase at San Diego’s Tin Can Ale House (beer-lovers welcome). We’ve got a great bill with two emerging bands from LA, Mississippi Man and The Ross Sea Party, along with San Diego’s The Drowning Men and our resident DJ, Cory Casey, who was recently named Commune’s featured local.
The Drowning Men just finished a west coast tour from San Diego to Seattle including a performance at Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party. With pounding drums, layered keyboards and front-man Nato Bardeen’s powerful vocal, this five piece packs a big sound live which should translate well in Tin Can’s intimate space. The Drowning Men are definitely one of San Diego’s seemingly unknown gems.
Described by Deli Magazine as ”Dylan and Young with bigger balls and more wattage,” Mississippi Man are making noise in the Los Angeles scene. They just wrapped their Echo Residency and recently performed in the KROQ studio. With a sound in the vein of Doctor Dog and Delta Spirit, Mississippi Man guarantee a good time.

The Ross Sea Party
Opening the night are The Ross Sea Party, a charming five piece who’s melody-driven sound is combined with just enough raspiness and character that will that will make you keep coming back for more. They recently released their EP, Plains of ID, and we can’t get enough of their song “Broken Arrows.”
