We had the pleasure of stumbling upon Wild Nothing at a recent Neon Indian show at Williamsburg Music Hall in Brooklyn. As if their fuzzy 80’s-infused pop sound which forced us to gravitate to the stage wasn’t enough, two things sealed the deal for us: 1/ they covered Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” 2/ they are from Virginia, which somehow makes them seemingly endearing and unjaded. However, point number 2 may not last as rumor has it they are relocating to Brooklyn. Originally a solo-project by front-man Jack Tatum, their live show features a full-band. After the show, we picked up their LP, Gemini, from Cake Shop in LES. What can be a rarity these days, Wild Nothing translates well both live and recorded. Put them on your radar, they will not disappoint.
