Beck continues to push the boundaries of creativity and music industry normalcy (if there is such a thing anymore). His recent venture is a new series on his website called Irrelevant Topics featuring “extended informal conversations with musicians, artists, filmmakers, and other various personages [...] without promotional pretext or editorial direction.” The first artist to be featured in the series is the great Tom Waits.  Check out Part 1 here.

Also on Beck.com, keep an eye out for a new feature titled Record Club, “an informal meeting of various people to record an album in a day. An album will be chosen to be reinterpreted… Nothing rehearsed or arranged ahead of time.”  Tracks will be uploaded once a week on Beck’s site and on the web sites of those involved with the project.
